Nautic Global Group introduces two new additions to the Rinker Captiva Sportboat line, the 196 I/O and the 196 O/B, which are designed to balance out the brand’s product offerings in smaller runabouts, and expand power options for consumers by adding an outboard motor model for the first time in 18 years.
Expected to appeal to a wider variety of boaters, the new Captiva 196s are well positioned to attract young families that are just getting into boating or moving up from smaller boat, as well as more seasoned boaters who are looking to downsize. The new Captiva 196 models fit right in with the rest of the stylish Captiva series, with graceful lines, lots of comfortable seating, plenty of storage and even a matching trailer.
Although Rinker’s sterndrive models have traditionally had a strong market share, the new size opens up the brand to compete in one of the largest-volume length segments. Available with either 4.3- or 5.0-liter power, the sterndrive Captiva is a beautifully designed 19’ 6” boat and continues to offer the incredible value associated with the Rinker name.
The new outboard 196 is specifically built to capture interest of boaters in Coastal regions and Northern climates, where outboard power continues to grow as a preferred power option. Consumers will also benefit from the fact that outboards have become even more price-competitive in recent years.
“The success of our Rinker Captiva 216 (introduced early in 2011) made the decision to offer a smaller product easy, so we positioned it to compete very well in a popular segment.” said Rinker Brand Manager Michael Kamaloski. “Bringing back outboard power to the Rinker Captiva Sportboat line is an important step for us, both for consumers as well as for our dealers. It raises the bar even higher in terms of being able to compete in any market in the country.”
