Rinker Boats, a division of Nautic Global Group, has introduced a new addition to its popular cuddy line with the Rinker Captiva 236 CC. The boat was designed specifically for cooler North American regions and International markets and is based on the overwhelmingly successful 236 BR, which came out last year.
“We pulled out all the stops when we designed the 236 BR and everything really came together beyond our expectations,” said Rinker Brand Manager Mike Kamaloski. “It was only natural that we would consider building a cuddy version of that boat. And when we started hearing the buzz from our International dealer network, we knew we not only had to create a great closed-bow model, but find ways to take both boats up another notch.”
Along with a beautiful profile from the water, the 236 CC features an incredibly roomy forward berth and upgraded touches borrowed from Rinker’s express cruiser line such as Corian countertops and Brazilwood cabinetry. The cockpit features all of the clever innovations from the bowrider version including two hideaway jump seats that stow away neatly into either side of the boat, as well as the Rinker ICE system, which permits easy cooler access through a concealed seat cushion hatch. Also standard on the 236 CC is the wildly popular adjustable rear rumble seat, which folds down neatly to form an oversized sun lounge. As with all Captiva models, this boat also features a flip-up walk-through transom for easy access to the integrated rear swim platform.
But perhaps the most head-turning innovation on the 236 CC is a hidden head, tucked away neatly under the forward berth, surrounded on both sides by convenient upholstered seats that fold down to form a large mattress. “When you look at the overall cuddy market, the new 236 CC is really well-positioned,” said Rick Velger of Hideaway Harbor Yacht Sales, the world’s biggest Rinker dealer. “Everything about the design of this boat is right on the money for our market. And when you consider the quality and value built into the Rinker brand, we expect this cuddy to be another big hit.”
