For the fourth year in a row a Regal boat has been recognized by Trailer Boats for Excellence In Design. This year’s award was for the Regal 2550 FasTrac in the Cruisers & Cuddies category for 2011. The Regal 2550 offers the patented FasTrac Hull and integrated fiberglass sports tower that folds into the cockpit with the touch of a button.
“The FasTrac hull, which is designed into all Regal sport boats, provides a cushion of air under the planing surface of the boat allowing the boat to plane faster, run at higher speeds with better fuel performance than similarly powered sport boats.” claims Pat Wiesner, Vice President of Engineering. “In addition we added a reverse chine and inverted strakes to add the track to the FasTrac formula.”
The oversized refreshment center with optional gas grill moves the galley to the cockpit making room below for the privacy of an enclosed head. The interior features LeatherCrest vinyl that has the look and texture of leather and is more durable and easier to maintain.
A patent pending Sport Arch has been tested to over 3 times the pull strength of a traditional aluminum sport tower and is designed with an electrically actuated system that lowers the arch into the cockpit. This feature allows for more streamlined towing, storage in the garage or a high and dry, as well as providing access under low bridges.
“Our editors will be presenting the actual award at the 2011 Miami International Boat Show, but we wanted you to know in advance, and be able to share and celebrate this important accolade with colleagues, business partners and customers,” explained Jim Hendricks, Publisher/Editorial Director – Trailer Boats. “We would also like to thank you for investing in innovation, particularly during these challenging economic times. It is this kind of forward thinking that the Trailer Boats Excellence in Design Awards program is intended to recognize and encourage. Your achievement is exemplary.”
